I'm back in business!
I wrote about baseball history on the first edition of Baseball with Matt for nine awesome years. During that time, I was able to interview fantastic people and go to some of the greatest baseball events a fan could dream of, with the mission of teaching everyone about the history of America's Pastime ("all the buzz on what wuzz," if you will).
So, what's changed?
The mission hasn't really changed, but it's certainly evolved! In my year-and-a-half off from writing, I became so eager to share my viewpoints surrounding the ever-fascinating and ever-advancing sport of baseball that I had to jump back into the blogging world. So, while I still want to talk about baseball's basics, it's time I dive deep into out-of-the-box journalism in order to make sense of the peanuts and crackerjacks. No, you won't read any hot takes with superficial explanations, but some of the stuff I write about in the new Baseball with Matt era might seem crazy, so just bear with me. This is going to be fun.
Come by the site every week for a new edition of Baseball with Matt, where if you just give me a little time, I'll explain to you why the single-season stolen base record is easily breakable, batting average wins MVPs, and being "clutch" is a bit of a fallacy.
